Ceramics: Beginning + Intermediate (Tuesdays), at the Visual Art Institute

Students can expect demonstrations at the start of each class followed by time to work on their own projects with some support. Additional instructions will be woven into lessons to build knowledge in the areas of glazing techniques, function, design and expression.

This class does allow students unlimited access to open studio hours during the term. The Open Studio schedule will be sent to students the second week of class. Open Studio Hours range from 30-40 hours per week outside of class time. Open studio is first come-first served for wheels.

REQUIRED FEE: The first half bag of clay is a required fee at the time or registration ($25). It is automatically added on at checkout. This fee includes glazes, slips, firings, waxes and supplies. A second bag may be purchased during the term. We do not allow outside clay or glazes in our studio.

DROP-INS: This class IS NOT open for drop-in or Flex Pass students. Many of the projects take more than one session making it difficult for students to come and go from the class.

REFUND POLICY: We are only able to offer refunds up to 2 weeks before the start of class. We do not offer refunds or credits or make up opportunities to students who miss any or all of a class.

TRANSFER POLICY: We may be able to transfer you to a different class depending on space availability.

TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: We try to make our classes as accessible to everyone as possible. We are able to offer a limited number of tuition assistance scholarships each term. You can complete an application in either English or Spanish. You can also call our office for assistance applying.

MULTI-CLASS DISCOUNT: When you register for more than one class, you can receive a discount up to 10% per class!
