Drawing/Watercolors: Plant and Animal Illustration, Thursday Class at the Visual Art Institute

Learn drawing and watercolor techniques in this 8-week course! With spring springing up we have great references for plant, animal, and insect illustration. We will take full advantage of that in this course using traditional mediums to create beautiful detailed illustrations of the natural world. In this class we will work on our ability to draw and paint from photographic and real life reference refining our skills of observation, proportion, and color mixing. We will use traditional mediums such as pencil, ink, and watercolors in this class. Focusing on fine detail for a more realistic representation of our subjects.

• Sketchbook
• Pencils and Erasers (include kneaded eraser)
• White Gelly Roller Pen
• Watercolors
• Watercolor Brushes (variety of shapes and sizes)
• Watercolor paper (Cold Pressed watercolor paper)
• Painters Masking Tape

• Winsor-Newton Watercolors or Van Gogh Watercolors
• Artify Watercolor Brushes or Transon Watercolor Brushes
