LARKIN TO HOST MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM WITH CONGRESSMAN MOORE
Larkin Mortuary’s annual Memorial Day service was started 25 years ago to help families honor their loved ones and military veterans who have passed. Services will include a flag ceremony, patriotic music with armed service songs from each military branch, bagpipes and drums, and refreshments.
The featured speakers will be Congressman Blake Moore and Command Sergeant Major Thalman from The Utah Army National Guard. Other participants will include the Hill Air Force Honor Guard, Minuteman Brass Quintet, Alta High School Lyrica, and the Utah Firefighters Emerald Society.
Blake Moore represents Utah’s First District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Budget Committee. In 2023, he was named vice chair of the House Republican Conference. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah in behavioral science and business and a Master's in public policy and administration from Northwestern University. Before being elected to Congress, Moore served as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State and as a business consultant for the Cicero Group, a management consulting firm. He and his wife Jane have four boys.
