Through the Lens: "The Eternal Memory" free film showing and conversation
Free in-person movie: The Eternal Memory tells a profound and moving love story that balances vibrant individual and collective remembrance with the longevity of an unbreakable human bond.
Utah Film Center in partnership with KUER’s Radiowest, invites you to an evening of cinematic exploration at its upcoming Through the Lens free film screening. Join us on Wednesday, February 21st, at 7 pm, at The City Library in Downtown Salt Lake City for a free screening of the award-winning "The Eternal Memory,” a profound love story about remembrance and the unbreakable human bond.
Augusto and Paulina have been together and in love for 25 years. Eight years ago, their lives were forever changed when Augusto was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. As one of Chile's most prominent cultural commentators and television presenters, Augusto is no stranger to building an archive of memory.
The beautifully documented story of The Eternal Memory shares the complicated nature of Augusto trying to hold onto his identity with the help of his beloved Paulina and facing the overwhelming challenge head-on. A tender affection and sense of humor shared between the couple remains remarkable and fully intact—a true story of resilience when facing uncertainty. We invite you to stay after the screening for a post-film Q&A hosted by Radiowest’s Doug Fabrizio.
