The Utah Mom Show

The Utah Mom Show will host national artist Lori Pratico on May 10th & 11th as she makes Utah her 14th state celebrating girls and women with her artwork. Pratico, a self-taught billboard artist from Philadelphia focuses her work mainly on the portrait. In 2015, now living in Florida, Pratico launched a nationwide mural project called “Girl Noticed.” And since then has traveled to 13 states including California, New York, Colorado and Alaska recognizing girls and women with large charcoal murals that fade off the wall. Pratico says there is a window of time to notice the girl, what she values in herself, before that very thing fades away. The temporary nature of her murals support this message. Pratico will recognize 3-4 moms who have been nominated by their community to be noticed. Mural unveiling will take place at the Mountain America Expo Center, during the Utah Mom Show. Friday May 10th, 12pm-8pm and Saturday May 11th, 10am-8pm. Girl Noticed is a community mural and arts outreach project, traveling the globe to build and maintain a world better informed about the positive impact the simple act of “noticing” a girl has. Every girl, just the way she is, has something about her worth noticing. Girl Noticed makes the bold statement that it is a community’s responsibility to notice. By empowering girls and women we highlight and recognize the value they add to a community and the world. It all starts with communities nominating girls and women to be noticed. Nominations cover a wide spectrum, from overcoming personal struggles to momentous achievements. The individual chosen represents many others like them and has brought attention to subjects such as Asperger’s Syndrome, racism, poor body image, domestic violence, education, breast cancer awareness, and LGBTQ rights to name a few.  The Utah Mom Show is set out to empower all women. This family friendly event was created by a team who recognized the need for a Utah show where moms of all kinds can learn, discuss and shop, while enjoying a Utah's Mother's Day party. Special guests and amazing vendors are part of the Friday and Saturday lineup. We are here to celebrate motherhood, family moments, provide resourceful information on topics Utah needs to talk about and give support while uniting parents who feel they're alone in their stories.
