Armed Forces Day Concert with the Choral Arts Society of Utah

Performing with the Utah National Guard 23rd Army Band

SALT LAKE CITY – Music Director Sterling Poulson and the Choral Arts Society of Utah invite you to an evening dedicated to honoring our men and women in the Armed Forces. This is a free concert and no tickets are required! The Armed Forces Day Concert is a very inspiring and community-focused event. Honoring our men and women in uniform, both past, and present, and highlighting the soldiers and airmen who have excelled in their service to this country is a gift to their families and the military personnel. So many times our men and women are decorated on the military installation, but the communities they live in never know of their achievements. This concert also gives the many veterans in our community, the opportunity to stand up once again and be counted during the Armed Forces Salute. The smiles on their faces show the pride in their hearts, and often tears in their eyes, as they stand during the rendition of their military song. There is a spirit of comradery and accomplishment in their successful efforts to preserve our freedom. This is an event you simply won’t want to miss! The evening entertainment begins at 5:30 pm, with the 23rd Army Band Rock Band (Article 15). The concert starts at 7:30 pm when the Utah National Guard 23rd Army Band, Chief Warrant Officer, Denny Saunders, conducting, takes the stage with the Choral Arts Society of Utah, Sterling Poulson, Music Director, conducting. This amazing concert will include a variety of music including the patriotic favorites you love to hear and ends with a spectacular fireworks display as the band plays John Philip Sousa’s Stars & Stripes Forever. Bring your family and enjoy plenty of food, fun and support service booths along with the great entertainment. Being honored this year will be men and women from the U.S. Army Reserve units at Fort Douglas. Daniel Woodruff, a reporter for KUTV 2News, will emcee the evening’s events. Special thanks to our sponsors who make this event possible; Zions Bank, Orbital ATK, Sorenson Legacy Foundation, The Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation, Salt Lake County ZAP, The Gallivan Center, Legacy Retirement Communities, and KUTV 2News.
