A press release sent out by Herriman City on Thursday evening announced that all Herriman city public meetings are being indefinitely postponed as a result of concerns related to the spread of COVID-19, or, the Coronavirus.

City Hall will remain partially open, though public access will be limited to the Customer Service and Building/Planning areas. The passport office and public records office will be closed.

The Court will continue to hear DUI  cases, domestic violence cases and bench warrants, however all other hearings are being postponed.

The press release emphasized that the city will continue to provide all essential city services including police, fire, water and utilities.

Just across the street from city hall, the Herriman Library and JL Sorensen Recreation Center will be closed starting on Friday following Salt Lake County's decision this afternoon to close all of its facilities.

A timeline was not given for the re-opening of County facilities, but in a video posted to social media, County Mayor Jenny Wilson said they will be closed until things are "more stable."

"We still don't have active cases in this County, but I love that our community is conservative and we're doing everything to support each other," she said.
