The second wettest spring on record brought Big and Little Cottonwood Creeks as well as the Jordan River to the top of their banks in June. Murray Park saw some flooding that required city crews to sandbag and close off bridges for safety concerns.

City officials cautioned residents to stay away from the swift, ice-cold creeks. One youngster at Murray Park fell into Little Cottonwood Creek and was pulled out by a passerby and taken to Intermountain Medical Center.  According to National Weather Service hydrologists, flooding could still be possible going into July depending on how fast the snowpack melts.
