Let's talk about parks. After all, July is National Parks and Recreation Month. Here in the Salt Lake Valley, we’re lucky to have an abundance of great parks to go enjoy during the summer.

The question we want to ask is, what is the best park in Salt Lake? Obviously that’s a subjective question, so that’s why we’re not going to decide on our own. We’re going to have the people decide.

Starting next week, the sixteen best parks in the valley are going to compete in a tournament bracket. Each matchup winner will be determined by social media voting. We call it, “Park Madness.”

Who will compete for the title of best park in Salt Lake

We selected one park from each of the fifteen cities that we deliver newspapers to (and added Salt Lake City to get to an even 16). We selected the park within each city that had the highest rating on Google. If two parks had the exact same rating, we went with the one that had the highest amount of reviews.

So without further ado, let's announce the parks. We'll start with the lowest seed and work our way up. (Click on any park for more info, photos, and scouting reports)
