Stars Complete Trade with Grand Rapids Drive

SALT LAKE CITY (September 16, 2016) – The Salt Lake City Stars announced today that they have acquired the returning player rights to center Henry Sims from the Grand Rapids Drive in exchange for the Stars’ own original 2016 first-round draft pick (fifth overall).

Sims (6-10, 245, Georgetown) appeared in 40 games (38 starts) for the Drive during the 2015-16 season, averaging 15.7 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 30.0 minutes of action.  

He earned two 10-day contracts with the Brooklyn Nets last season, appearing in 14 games and averaging 6.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. 

In addition to the Nets, the 26-year-old has also had stints with the New Orleans Pelicans, Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers (twice).
