This weekend only, Hillside Middle School will be performing the school production of Shrek the Musical Jr.

The play is based off the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and now is brought to you on stage.

The story goes a lot like the movie with the tale of Shrek, a grumpy old ogre who lives in a swamp, invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been sent there by the evil, short, tin and not to scary Lord Farquaad. Shrek then sets of with a sort of friend, named Donkey, who is ironically a donkey to confront Lord Farquaad. Shrek is then handed the task of rescuing the princess Fiona – only then will his swamp be returned to him. Shrek tries to win the princess’ love and vanquish Lord Farquaad.

Hillside performs its play this weekend, Feb. 24-26, at Hillside Middle School located at 1825 Nevada Street. Tickets are $5.
