Hellenic Genealogy Conference

The first-ever Western U.S. Hellenic Genealogy Conference will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Hellenic Memorial Building (Holy Trinity Cathedral), 279 South 300 West, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. There will be 12 lectures covering topics such as: accessing civil and church records in Greece; using U.S. records to find key genealogical information such as surnames and villages; reasons behind the wave of immigration in the early 1900’s; the Revolution of 1821 and its impact on ancestors; and DNA in Greek Research. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Lica Catsakis who will address the topic, “The Evolution of Hellenic Genealogy: Then and Now.” For class descriptions and registration information, see hellenicgenealogyconference.wordpress.com.
