Valley Fair Mall renovation underway

The first phase of Valley Fair Mall’s redevelopment proved successful with the completion of the Costco warehouse store, and now the second phase is underway with an official groundbreaking held on April 23.
“All the ingredients were already here before we got here,” co-owner Gregg Satterfield said. “We have now orchestrated them all together.”

Star of Excellence winners honored by city leaders

The second annual Mayor’s Star of Excellence awards were presented to the top three percent of West Valley City’s high school juniors. Since this is the time for students to begin filling out college and scholarship applications, Councilmember Mike Winder said this is one more accomplishment they can add to enhance their application.

Family Fitness Festival at Centennial Park May 17

The annual Family Fitness Festival put on by Select Health and co-sponsored by The Valley Journals will be held on Saturday, May 17, at Centennial Park, behind the West Valley Family Fitness Center. The center is at 5415 West 3100 South.
Activities will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 2 p.m., with the focus on fitness, nutrition and safety for the entire family.
