West Millcreek is the target of environmental study

Salt Lake County has received a $200,000 grant to perform an environmental assessment of West Millcreek. The grant was awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to determine if hazardous materials are present in the soil or groundwater and to promote redevelopment.
The assessment will cover 135 acres between 300 West, State Street, 3900 South and the Murray City boundary. The area consists primarily of industrial and commercial developments. Many of these are older sites that have ...
Community councils weigh in on infill ordinance

Three of Millcreek Township’s community councils made recommendations in April to the county planning commission on the proposed infill ordinance, nicknamed the “monster home ordinance.”
Canyon Rim Citizens Association opposes the ordinance. Likewise, the East Mill Creek Community Council has made a recommendation against the ordinance as it is currently written, and is continuing to explore the issue.
