Press Release submitted to City Journals

Salt Lake City, UT – After a brief two-week closure for major interior construction, Clark Planetarium reopens to the public at 10:30am on Saturday, September 17th. Although visitors will have access to the theatres, the Planetarium’s exhibit galleries will remain closed while additional construction continues.

The two-week closure commenced the home stretch of the Planetarium’s year-long exhibits renovation project, set to unveil to the public during the Planetarium’s “Ready Set Re-Launch” party on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016. The completed exhibits program maximizes the Planetarium’s public spaces on all three floors and emphasizes interactive, inquiry-based learning experiences.

As a thank you to visitors, the Planetarium is offering $4 prices on all tickets in both the Orbital ATK IMAX Theatre and the Hansen Dome Theatre from Saturday, September 17th thru October 21st, 2016. Seth Jarvis, Director of Clark Planetarium, said, “We know this is a confusing time and we are thankful for the patience and support of the community while we are making this huge transition. Offering discounted theatre tickets through the remainder of our construction project is our way of letting the community know just how much we appreciation them.”
